Who the Heck is This Girl?

10 years ago I was part of a sports blog site, the creator of which told me I was the best blog writer he'd ever read. At the time, blogs were new and I didn't really understand them, so his words were relatively meaningless. But now, here I am, hoping his words can ring true for others. *Fingers crossed.*

My name is Deborah Lew. I was born and raised in Southern California and have lived here my whole life. *Insert unicorn emoji here.* I'm third generation Chinese-American, and have a BA in English from the University of California, Irvine. My professional life consists of many things I absolutely love, which I am truly grateful for. I own an event planning business, a social media marketing business, I'm a journalist with the LA Kings, and I teach ice skating on the side. *What free time?*

While I work a lot, I always make time for who and what is important to me. My social calendar fills up pretty easily and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have amazing friends and a great family and make no mistake, they are what makes this life worth living. You will definitely meet them here in this blog.

For the last four years I've been on a pretty intense journey of self-growth and discovery, and have uncovered some pretty incredible things (and let's be honest, some disheartening ones) about myself and the world along the way. I'm a glass-half-full kind of person, would never willingly pose for a photo without a smile or some sort of silly face, and I'm proud of the way I look at the world through rose-colored glasses...or, as I prefer to call it, through a heart-shaped lens.
